Using convert doesn't it also leave the system open to certain viruses and
other trash like a boot sector virus to cause problems??

Uninstalling OWA manually can be done

Stop the IIS Service
To remove, go to the IIS manager and delete the Exchange virtual directory
Rename c:\Exchsrvr\Webdata to something else instead of deleting it.
Delete c:\exchsrvr\webtemp directory
Create a bak directory in the c:\winnt\system32 and move exchfilt.dll to
c:\winnt\system32\bak
Rename the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB

To reinstall OWA, make sure IIS is started, and you have to be PDC, BDC or a
member server where Exchange resides. If your outside
a firewall you must bring the machine inside and install OWA, then put it
outside.

Is anyone running OWA on a different server than Exchange 5.5? If yes, what
procedures did you take?
After getting hit with the Nimda virus, I had to reformat the hard drive and
reinstall patches. I have not been able to get OWA installed on that server
I keep receiving an error message when trying to install OWA "Failed to
remove OWA" . The specified file cannot be found, Microsoft NT ID No:
ox00c00002.
