Why don't you make it more simple.

 

Go to the internet and download aboutime, it's freeware.

 

Install it on all the servers and config aboutime to point each server to only one of the servers to get it's time from, then take that one main time server, and using aboutime, set it to go out to the internet to the naval observatory, or some other standard time service every 30 minutes or so. 

 

I set it up on my network so that all my servers point to one server and they check with it every 30 minutes.  THe main server, which is not my PDC, is the only server allowed to go out to the internet through my firewall and get the time from three specific IP address on specific ports.

 

I then set it in my users login scripts to go to a specific server based on where they are located to sync the time on the workstations using a net time statement in their login .

 

No worries, haven't had any time problems since.

Is it possible to set up a Win2k server as the time server for our network when it is not the Domain Controller for a Winnt4 based LAN?

 

If so, any pointers as to how to get this to work would be great! (Links, etc...)

 

I've been working on this for some time and at one time thought it was working... but it wasn't.
