Sort of off-topic, but last time I used HFNetCheck it could only
scan/patch machines that were powered on at the time. If I deployed a
patch, it didn't get queued and I had to run a report and redeploy
again. This became too time-consuming. Is this still true for this
product?

So I switched to Patch Link. Nice concept but I've been using it for
several years and it's still pretty buggy (users getting notices when
they are not supposed to, deployments happening way off schedule,
off-line PCs never coming back on-line, even though they are on-line).

So I use Zenworks anyway, and the new version has patch-management as
well as traditional workstation management (imaging, remote management,
inventorying).

Anyone have success with anything else for patch management? The nice
thing about Patch Link is that it got updates for every software you
could think of, including Granny's Blue Bonnet 1.0.1.

Yeah I looked at those url, and all it gives me is a screen full of XML
accordingly. Anything you need to enable in IE 6.0 on SP2 to get the RSS
working, or do I need to do it in Firefox?

Yeah…IE does that, too.

Generally, I just go with the one that it defaults to. This is the
first time I’ve had to choose to get it to work correctly.

Dunno. I'm using Firefox and in the URL I can tell there are 3
different versions of the feed. Firefox lets me properly see all three
versions as well.

Yay Firefox.

Cool...thanks!

Do they not have links to those on the actual blog page? Or, am I
completely blind?

http://shavlik.typepad.com/mark_shavliks_blog/rss.xml

They have it available in 3 formats.
