Er, that was sort of a joke, but you can do quite a bit with some scripts 
monitoring the event logs. I am assuming DCs would be the main thrust of your 
interest, so I doubt all servers are DCs, maybe cutting the work down a bit?

SCOM ACS may be a bit OTT :-)

We have maybe 30 or so servers spread over our county school system.  It would 
be cumbersome to monitor the logs individually.
