All the research I've done shows that DirectTV has more channels at the similar offering levels. At least here they do.

We have refused to add any extra Comcast services for TV. When I originally got it, we had the basic stuff that came along with the cable connection - so we had a bunch of channels - including FX and SCI FI for a while. Since they've went digital, we have about 10 channels (as we only have Internet and the most "Basic" TV package we can get) - no boxes. Now, they've sent us another msg telling us we had to get boxes just to watch TV on our older sets. So we got 3 of those for free and have to put those in. Looks like DISH has a good deal too now with Blockbuster and all their included stuff. I hate dealing with them, can't seem to do anything right. I have Dish at home and when I called them to complain that if I was a new customer I would be paying $20/month less for the exact same package they dropped $10/month from my bill right there. ________________________________ From: Don Kuhlman [mailto:drkuhl...@yahoo.com]<mailto:[mailto:drkuhl...@yahoo.com]> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2012 9:10 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Re: MagicJack FWIW, I've had Vonage for about 4 years or so. Originally had their unlimited $24.99 single line monthly plan that ended up costing about $28.00 per month after fees and taxes. I called and asked if there were discounts for paying in bulk. They said yes so I went with a 1 year contract which put it back to about $25.00 per month with all the taxes and fees in there. The catch was that they automatically renew it. I didn't want them to, but they re-billed me for another year, we had a fight about it, and I had to settle with them for $140 for services they charged me. So I left them, lost my phone number and had no service for a few months while I was shopping around (AT&T, Comcast package, etc.). No one seemed to be able to come close so I went back to Vonage. This time I got their basic $14.99 / month package that has about 300 minutes monthly. They sent me a new box and the monthly charges are about $17.00 after fees. The fax seems to work better than it did with the old box I had which sounds like the QOS is on the newer hardware. It didn't work very well with the older box. I'm still trying to see about getting Comcast for the Internet, TV, and phone (Midwest market), but they tell me their specials are only for "NEW" customers. That really blows my mind, because I've had their Internet and basic TV for almost 9 years. You would think they would want to keep loyal customers and offer some incentives, but they don't. The sales guy said to cancel your service, and then you can come back as a "new" customer. I was trying to find a solution that would give me a analog line at a piece of equipment that had a modem for tech support to dial in to. From what I can tell Vonage is the only service that a fax line works well with and is somewhat supported. All the others are a cr@p<mailto:cr@p> shoot and if you can connect will be flaky and almost unusable speeds. According to what I read Vonage works because they do QOS on the device itself. ________________________________ From: Senter, John [mailto:john.sen...@etrade.com]<mailto:[mailto:john.sen...@etrade.com]> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2012 8:18 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: MagicJack I was also thinking of switching from Vonage to Magicjack because they keep going up with fees and increases. Have you tested faxing yet? I do not fax a lot, but with Vonage it has not been an issue, but reading the post it looks like MJ may not be as reliable for multi-page faxing.
