Since rewiring the fans isn't an option (can't really void the warranty) it 
looks like my approach is going to be placing them at the very top of the rack 
and mounting some fans to pull air through the top of the rack itself. That 
plus a blanking panel on the front of the rack should at least keep hot air 
from being vented into the cold isle.

  I suppose you could take the power supply apart and manually turn the fan 
around.  This would be labor-intensive and likely warranty-voiding, though.
