Per the comments: "I have come across machines that DO have more than one chassis type (Laptops on docking stations are Laptop/Notebook + Expansion Chassis)" We solved this problem by having the hostname reflect the type. So if the hostname begins with FOOLT, it's a laptop. If it's FOOPC, it's a desktop.
