I've always found it in
c:\users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre<ver>. Where username is
the user which ran the installer. I don't run with admin rights, so when
prompted I enter credentials for workstation administrator. It then puts
the msi file under that account's folder in c:\users, not in my day-to-day
account.

You should be able to do a search for the msi from an elevated command
prompt, from the root of the system drive or even the users folder: dir
jre*.msi /s found the file.
