Subject: Acro Reader won't install

<rant> getting rather tired of this... </rant>

I had to replace a drive in a PWS 380 and install from scratch (XP Pro,
SP2).

ALL attempts to install Adobe Acrobat fail with this error message:

Internal Error 2753. Updater.api_NON_OPT

I have:

Run the MS Install clean-up

Hunted through the file system to delete all things Adobe

Hunted through the registry and removed all things Adobe from:
        HKLM\Software
        HKCurrentUser\Software
        HKLUsers\.Default\Software

Re-running my MSI, I get exactly the same results.

Repeating all the above, then going to the Adobe site for a new EXE
installer and running it, I get exactly the same results.

Last week I had similar problems on one machine, but running the MS Install
Clean-up fixed that. <rant> Not this time... </rant>
