Subject: Account Unknown removal

Checking security on my objects in my AD, some of them show "Account
Unknown" and a SID. If I use PSGETSID and it doesn't return anything, but
running it against other accounts returns a SID (or account name, depending
which direction I go), is there something else I can do to make sure the
account really doesn't exist and it's not just some trust or other reason
why the SID doesn't resolve?

There don't happen to be any methods to find out what the SID *USED* to
belong to, is there?
