Agree with Dave. If you need the PoE, I'd go with the HP 2650-PWR, but the
ports are only 10/100, not Gig. the 2848 has 48 Gig ports, but not the PoE, so
you'd have to figure out which is more important...lol.

No one ever got fired for selecting Cisco. A 2848 from HP will work just fine.
As many have said before free tech support for life on all HP switches is hard
to beat.

Subject: Network switch problem?

Hi all,

I have a problem I believe with my network switch. It is a Dell model (power
connect) which cost around

£600. It has 48 GBit ports and I always lose web access to it within a couple
of weeks of re-booting it.

In addition, I had some network issues recently in terms of user performance.
Reports of very slow internet

downloads etc. Moreover, I noticed after I rebooted it users said things where
better. I also notice when

I attempt to copy a big file (5GB >) it will sometimes say the destination
server is unavailable and cancel

the copy.

I have no solid proof that it is the switch that is causing the issues, but
that is my gut feeling. I'm ready to

Replace it with something a little better...

 Any recommendations?

Thanks

David
