I'm sure that the particular video was made for fun. But it has raised awareness of some potential holes in several places, making people ask questions.
That would be a corporate policy for corporate e-mail. It was a termination offense at several places I've worked in the past. Insofar as breaking-and-entering - I believe it is a crime, but I don't know if that would be state or federal statute. Too many places represented here for it to be the same all over. In regards to auditing, I'm currently investigating a piece of software named "ChangeAuditor for Exchange" from NetPro. It looks very very promising. Obligatory disclaimer: they gave me a free copy for review. Regards, Michael B. While I appreciated the humor of the video, I am hoping the entire thing was staged just to make a funny video. Funny? Yes! If it was a real scenario - that dude is an idiot. Real men own up to their mistakes and don't go to lengths to cover it up. How would you like to be a co-worker who has to troubleshoot it? If the guy covers up his error how much money/time is lost by someone else investigating why the site went down? Would be funny if the company had measures that would allow them to trace what that guy did though, LOL. Anyone know if it's a crime to tamper with someone else's e-mail w/out their consent?
