In Kaspersky you can choose whether to install the FW portion. I'm
hoping that would be an option with Vipre as well, since I wouldn't
install it on HQ computers behind all the firewalls but I would on a
road warriors laptop. All manageable from the same dashboard. In an
ideal world, that's what you would want, imho.

Man, everytime I see an AV solution try to do it all, it turns into a
big pile of poo.

Don't go Norton 360 on us, please!

I am very happy without Firewall protection in my AV.

Does anybody know when there will be a firewall product included in
Vipre? I like the AV but we're looking to scrape out PCCillin too, not
just our Trend.

Thanks for thus Stu! Do you know of anything comparing it to McAfee? I
am evaluating McAfee Endpoint Security (full disk encryption) and since
we already have McAfee Enterprise it will be tougher to moving away from
McAfee since the same console that handles McAfee AV (McAfee ePO) also
manages their enterprise encryption tool...

Tom,

In that case read this new review at ZDNet. It compares VIPRE

with Symantec and Kaspersky, and does a performance shoot-out:

Warm regards,

Unlike Symantec Corporate. I have all settings set to "low" resource
utilization yet the real-time virus scan is almost always number one in
resource utilization.

So I'm looking into VIPRE.

Like many modern applications, NOD32 will use all available resources
if/when it needs to - without interfering with other applications.

The system does not get "pegged" or become unresponsive.
