Well, I really don't have a need for it - but the reason was that it
was causing emails in Public Folders to be marked as read - just
because I had selected them (no preview pane, etc).  This didn't
happen in my Inbox, but did in PFs.  It got terribly annoying.  And
since I didn't have a clear need for it: *POOF!*
