By default, Windows Servers do not listen for share requests on alias names.

You need to disable strict name checking by adding a registry entry.

This works fine for Windows Server 2000/2003 but does not work for 2008.

Does anyone know how to get Windows Server 2008 to allow connections to shares
using an alias names?

Thanks,
