Interesting, I also applied the patch yesterday. In the midst of the
install it asked for an .msi file it could not find, I canceled the
upgrade after that all the BB services where gone except one. I called
tech support got trough almost immediately, the solution was to install
4.1.6 again and then apply the update again, the problem was the
download took over 1 hour. Ones I had it and reinstalled 4.1.6 and
applied the Patch everything was ok, finally but with almost 2 hour
downtime.

While speaking to the tech support fellow he asked me if I had backed up
the database, he sent me a link how to do it:

ftp://irt:ghp7...@ftp2.rim.net/BESX_4.1 SP6 Full/besx_4.1.6.exe

He said as long as you have a valid backup you can blow away the BES
server reinstall and restore from B/U and all your users are back.
Good to know.

Subject: A wee bit OT? Blackberry Enterprise database

Greetings! A couple of days ago RIM sent me a notice that a service
release #4 for Blackberry Enterprise Services was available. I applied
this (along with a handful of MS patches) yesterday.

Some folks have now notified me they are not getting email anymore.
Others
are telling me that deleting from the Blackbury (and choosing "from
handled and from Inbox") will NOT remove unwanted messages from the
user's
desktop system Inbox.

Looking at the Application Events on the server, I see a LONG string of
red and yellow dots. They are mostly:

Event ID 10415 - Database is corrupt -- Cannot allocate space 0x0238

Event ID 10575 - UnreadMarks::Init - Failed to read unread marks table
object from BBSD, objid = 0 (This database cannot be read due to an
invalid on disk structure 0x0601)

The database is the free "Express" version of MS SQL Server 2005.

Any good way to check the database structure and possibly correct the
corruption?

Thanks!
