Hi Guys,
Im sorry, but im gonna have to be a little vague here:

I have a new 2008 standard server, that has been (successfully) set up as a
TS on a small domain.

There is an app that a 3rd party is installing that uses a database server
for its data, and the client program connects to said database and does it
job. Or rather it doesnt on the 2008 box, the client side installed fine but
it then cannot connect to the database server.

All XP boxes on the same domain work fine.

The 2008 Ts can ping the server, by both name and IP, all other programs
work fine. the best that the 3rd party can tell me is that the "client
connects using DCOM", and thats all I know until the German support guys get
back to me. It doesnt write ANYTHING to any event log when the connection
fails.

Any ideas? Does 2008 have to have something "switched on" for DCOM to work?

The database is held on a 2003R2 standard server on SQL2005SP2.
