Thanks to everyone for the replies. I never realized that I could use the
“shutdown” command to shut down / reboot a remote PC. J Learn something new
every day. ‘Course I’m used to using the “shutdown” command in linux, but
only found out a few months back that there was a similar command in
Windows. J

If you are admin then CMDSàshutdown /m \\computername
<file:///\\computername> /r /t 3

/r shutdown and restart

/t 3 shut down in 3 seconds

This is for Vista but the commands are similar for XP.

You can batch it and schedule for all your machines.

IS there an easy way to have a server-initiated workstation restart? I’ve
got machines that need to reboot to finish the AVG update and short of
sending out a mass email or walking to each workstation and rebooting it
myself, I’m not sure how to do that….
