I'm familiar with this. I tend to download the basic/network/minimal driver from the HP website, extract it and browse to the .inf's on the first attempt of installing the driver. Some printers won't allow this and you MUST run the executable installer, which I hate.
This HP seems to offer FAX to SMB, which would indicate scan to SMB possibly. I like the separate color ink carts as well which was a requirement when looking. I'm really surprised I wasn't able to find any Bluetooth enabled MFP's printers. Awful, awful stuff. That said, my mother in law has one and it works pretty much all the time. If you do go with an HP, step through the installation manually and install as little of the crud as possible.
