Yes, you should get a PowerShell 2.0 book. There are several ease of use
enhancements.

For the basics, get Jones/Hicks "PowerShell: TFM, Second Edition". For
hard-core, you gotta go with Payette (who is on the PowerShell team at
Microsoft), "PowerShell in Action, Second Edition". But if you've never
scripted, I wouldn't start with Payette.

All IMHO. I have no financial connection to any of these people. :-)

Subject: Powershell book

I would like to start learning Powershell. Our servers are, or are going to
2008 and R2, so should I go straight for Powershell 2.0, or would it matter
much?

Any books to recommend? I've never done any scripting, so I would need
something to start at the bottom floor.

Thanks,

Joe
