+1000 on the stupidly long named and repeated folder naming conventions.

The fun starts when they copy a file from a short(-ish) path into a longer
one and wonder then why they can't open it again.

I'm also intrested in the answer to this, I have a user who likes to store
things in

//fileserver/staff/user/really long name here that is descriptive to her
so that she can find it again when she needs it again at some point in the
future/2010 - 2011/the folder I was looking for/stuff i'm working on/stuff
I need to take home/revised/version 1

you know ....

Does anyone have experience with Win7 and really long file/path
specifications- that is, beyond 254 characters?

The Win32 API doesn't support longer than that, and I was wondering
if it was fixed with Win7.

If the problem is fixed for Win7, will I have to move my file server
to Win2k8 to take advantage of the increased length?
