Not that new… several years old, as a matter of fact. I probably should have
wiped it and reinstalled, but hey…at this point, it’s too late. J

Is this a newish computer? A Dell? Dell computers have Windows Live
Esentials, IIRC on them, which uses SQL server. Since I wipe all computers
before deploying, I don't have this problem.

AAARRRRGGGHHH‼ One of my users has ACT! 2008 on his laptop and it suddenly
stopped working the other day and said that it needed a valid serial number to
run. Now that we have the serial number from the original install media (this
is about the third or fourth time we’ve had to “activate” ACT! 2008) it’s
complaining that it can’t activate because MS SQL server is installed on that
laptop. Well, hell, why did that suddenly become a problem? AFAIK, they’ve been
peacefully co-existing for the past couple years and NOW it’s a problem???

To top it off, the user didn’t understand the instructions I gave him to “go to
add / remove programs and uninstall MS SQL Server.” Although who knows what
THAT will break! L

I’m thinking we’re going to have to either buy an updated copy of ACT! or
switch to something like SugarCRM (which I think would be better as the whole
company can use it!)
