OK you did not say which OS he was running on, but I have a few suggestions, first if it is XP go to C:\\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook Vista/Win7 go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook And delete the files in this directory. Make sure Outlook is closed first. I have found this usually clears up the problem you listed.
