Windows 7 still does support floppy drives. If your program was a greeting card program, and the average size of a greeting card saved to disk was 3 megs, would you support your users who wanted a version that fits on a 1.44MB floppy? Probably not if it compromised the quality of your product. The thing is, there are alternatives out there, and some applications have moved beyond the scope of older (yet supported) technology. There's nothing wrong with Floppy drives, and there's nothing wrong with IE6. (Well, one could argue there's things wrong with both Floppies and IE6... but I digress.)
