I can most certainly guarantee that if a particular enthusiast
motherboard supports RAID 5 you most certainly DO NOT EVER want to use it.

Generally speaking, RAID 5 and RAID 6 are best done with a RAID card
with it's own dedicated CPU and and an option for a battery module for
the cache. Such things cost roughly $300 for a 4 drive unit and roughly
$500 for a 8 drive unit.
