I have a BlacX Duet (dual dock) by Thermaltake. It supports USB and eSATA. USB for versatility; eSATA for performance. I wouldnt recommend pidgeon-holing yourself with only one technology.
Its been a very useful tool, especially when transferring SATA-to-SATA (not within the same dock). SATA to SATA can considerably faster than having USB in the mix, but YMMV depending on your hardware.
