Thanks for bursting my bubble :)  Go Fortran!!!!!

I also did some Z80 microprocessor stuff in school using hex input keypads
and DIP switches.  I have to credit DOOM and sound cards for getting me to
move from Engineering to IT.  I had some background in computers and
programming languages but trying to get a SoundBlaster 'compatible' sound
card to play sound in DOOM on a 286 really got me to sink my teeth into
operating systems and the foibles of hardware/software/drivers.
