I know when I deployed WSUS from a Windows 2008 server turning off IPv6
either pre WSUS build or post caused issues with Vista and Server 2008
clients. This was prior to 7 becoming available. It was worse if I had
System Center Essentials in the mix. They all worked much better with IPv6
enabled. I have not done any testing with 2008R2 and 7 but would guess that
would still be the case. XP and Server 2003 did not care about IPv6 and I
did not extend their IP stacks to include it for testing.
