We saw seriously slow installs when we had not removed the previous antivirus. We upgraded the servers from SAV 10 to SEP 11 and our expectation was that the install would upgrade the existing, which it did, but at a time cost. It was much faster to uninstall SAV10, restart and then install SEP 11.
