I usually use a 1 gig LUN/partition. Make sure that's on storage which is protected to the same level as your mount points or you'll find whatever is using the mount points to be DOA if the drive hosting the folder they're mounted in fails.

The only thing I can think is whether it's worth creating a small dedicated partition just to act as a root for the mount paths so that running things like Tree size on the C: drive won't try and recurse through 10tb or so of disk.
