I forgot to list that as a tried option - unfortunately, a test restore failed.
This db passes a dbcc checkdb run, btw. I found another db that doesn't and
is complaining of disk read errors too.

I'd suggest a restore from backup now that you've fixed the hardware issues

Subject: Houston, we have a problem - SAN Disk corruption

Hey guys,

I've run into a problem where my SAN (HP Storageworks 1200r) had two disks die,
affecting three volumes. One of those was the SQL data volume that my SQL
Cluster shares. This is SQL 2008 (SP2) on Windows Server 2008 R2 (SP1). In
particular, one MDF file appears to have been damaged. Symptoms are:

· I try to copy the MDF (after detaching from SQL), and it fails with a
Read error at 3.09GB left (it's 5.25G in size).

· I try to use SQL to back the db up and that fails at 60%.

· I was able to move the DB to another folder on the same volume, but
still the above two issues happen.

Dbcc checkdb reports no errors, but I need to get this fixed ASAP. We're
replacing this with a Dell Equallogic shortly (within two weeks).

Let me know if you need any more information.
