I havn't installed any printers on Gnome yet and only used fancy frontends in KDE so far (on my x86-based system).
CUPS (a printing system) is not the badest choice, its README says that it supports several HP LaserJet printers. It can deal with printers that are attached over network. In general it's only a matter of finding a correct .PPD file for your printer and setting it up for CUPS/foomatic. For the Ink-based printer I guess one of these projects should be sufficient: http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/ http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=hpijs http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/ However try to find an appropriate Debian package first before installing any raw archives. Please share your findings, I have to setup an all-in-one HP printer for a friend soon :) Good luck, Florian ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
