Hi Florian,

good to hear that your PCMCIA cards are working better now.
There seems to be a PCMCIA card services problem with not deactivating the cards properly - strange. The only thing that happens with my cards is that I get that message "aborting m2_get_irq" and dump once when shutting down PCMCIA_CS. I already made a patch to disable the card interrupts during card eject but that didn't solve the problem. I think I could disable all interrupts temporarily - hoping that will not cause the PMU to cut off power.

Well done Tobias!

I just downloaded the miboot image from your site.

It is possible to eject/insert my PCMCIA cards during runtime.
The Netgear MA401 WLAN and the 3com Megahertz 574B work quite well.

The cards are usually detected after three or four "trex: enabling card
interrupts" messages.

OK, sometimes I can eject the cards using cardctl even when the cards
are configured e.g. using ifconfig.
That seems strange to me, but I don't know what the regular behavior is. The bad thing is that sometimes the configuration of one card is applied
to the other when I eject and reinsert cards (of course only when the
card was configured and cardctl allowed to eject).

Even the NE2000-based (MacSense MPC-10) is working when plugged in
during runtime.
However I get an endless "aborting m2_get_irq" + register dump when I
just do a simple "cardctl eject <slot>".
This only happens when the MacSense is in charge.
Inserting the MacSense again fixes the situation after some "too much
work at interrupt, status 0x22", etc. messages.
Only ejecting the 3com is OK (when the MacSense is plugged in).

Ejecting the Netgear and 3com cards together works fine.

And yes, my ext3 root file system doesn't get corrupted any more after
unclean shutdowns. At least it gets properly fixed during boot (no more
freezes).

Well, thanks again!

Cheers,

 Florian
