Hi, I suppose you want to install Debian with the installer from the CD, do you? Therefore you need to set "root=/dev/ram" if I remember correctly. But there should already be a prepared configuration on the screen where you choose the boot configuration. You change between the configurations using the left and right cursor keys or the mouse.
