Hi all, I finally put all my patches into the CVS repository. Because I have no experience in using CVS I updated some files that I didn't change. And I didn't comment the changes at all. The changes consist of: - rewrite of PowerBook interrupt handling - patch of the PMU driver - enabling of power saving features - SONIC driver (still not working - needs to be tested and improved on PowerBooks 500PPC and 2300) - CS8900 driver for the Focus EtherLAN 1400 - SMC9194 driver - change in the 8390 driver to not recognize cards that don't have an 8390 chipset - update of the PowerBook SCSI driver to use Pseudo-DMA (there are still issues with the driver blocking the kernel while doing I/O transfers) - SWIM 2 floppy driver for the PowerBook expansion bay (still not working) - update of the serial port driver to be more reliable (still needs to be improved because of issues with hanging interrupts) - change in the hfsplus filesystem driver to allow an HFS plus filesystem to be remounted read/writeable when although it is unclean - fix of the Menuconfig script to allow using it when the filename of the awk executable is not "awk" but for example "gawk" - maybe something more that I forgot
I have built a working kernel from the repository. In order to be able to compile "Mach Kernel" images for use with the MkLinux boot loader you have to use binutils prior to version 2.16 . The highest version of gcc that will produce a working kernel is 3.3 but 2.95 may be needed for Performas for example (for whatever reason).
