I f someone did not understand that answer - translation is twirl up (close display of effects parameters) the effect in Effects Control Window and it stops drawing overlays.

Could be useful to have "Overlay Only Current Node" instead or aside "Overlay" in Viewer Menu maybe

NUKE will render overlays for Nodes with open properties panels.

The only Node I can think of that doesn't do this is the Roto family.

I wonder if someone else using NDK has seen this issue (we use
OFX). When there are multiple instance of a tool using Overlay
Drawing, even the ones not connected to any viewer at all get
called to render overlays. This can make it incomprehensible to
users here particularly when nodes are different sizes. I guess a
workaround is to add a boolean checkbox to not draw overlay, but
just wondering if it's an OFX implementation issue or generic
    across Nuke.
