yes, nuke rebuilds all channels on script load, 
but unused channels are not removed.

in our production it happens quite often, 
when adopting nuke setups with different/new footage,
and old (and now unused) channels are left behind in the script.
Having 100+ channels idling in the channel drop down 
menue is very annoying.
