Hey guys, ive seen this used before but i cant remember what it is or how to call it. Basically a 2d point (like a vertex on a roto node) that gets the RGB data of a pixel that its on, or at least you can script it that way.
To give you a rough idea of why im doing this, i want to try and make a sort of soft select like maya has where you paint vertices and it will move them more or less accordingly. havent thought this 100% through yet, but for a fun side project, my rough idea is to make a python scipt that links these points gathering RGB data to any selected handles (say some points on a roto node or grid warp) and gets the RGB thats under them at any time. Then using an expression based on the color, you can use a paint node to paint behind each of those handles and it will multiply its movement based on the value the point is overtop of. might sound useless to many, but id use it a fair amount, and agian im doing it mostly for fun and to see if i can.
