Hey Sebastian,

I don't know if there's a way through python but maybe you could work around it 
using the reconcile3d node? Through python you could create the node, connect 
the proper inputs, get the 3D and 2D position and then clean the node away 
maybe? This is a little hack and It might not suit your needs. So if you find a 
more elegant python solution please post it here!
