A little kludgy, and I haven't actually tried it, but you could try adding
an onCreate callback to the Root that checks some global "signal" variable
that your scriptLoad callback(s) normally set, and if it isn't set, manually
fire them.
As far as whether it's a bug or not... that would be a good question for
support.
