Solved.

Actually, I forgot to 'nuke.addPath('/path/icons/')' .... stupid me.
Plus I was referring to them relatively to the current script
('../icons/myIcon.png').
So I just refer to them by name (myIcon.png); they are now displayed.

You were right, once in the plugin path we can refer to them simply by
name,
