to clarify, the script responsible for versioning up is
nukescripts.version_up(), which lives in <install
path>/plugins/nukescripts/version.py
so with the afore mentioned gizmo, you could write a little script
snippet that checks for this gizmo in the current node selection and
incerements the versionNumber knob, otherwise execute the default
nukescripts.version_up()

I'd expression link the internal version to an external integer knob.
e.g. "[value parent.versionNumber]"
then you can edit Nuke's versioning script to include the new gizmo's
"versionNumber" knob

Is there a way to tie the 'alt+up' command to a gizmo/group node?
i made a group/gizmo that has multiple write nodes being that
different things must be rendered out- instead of manually going
through each right node to change a version, i would like to just hit
'alt+up' to version up all the write nodes in the gizmo/group node.
Any ideas or suggestions?
thanks!
