Thanks Randy, that may work as well, although the Edge Detect works on the combined alpha of the rotopaint node, as opposed to the individual rotos within the rotopaint in this case (I am trying to feature a very complicated series of roots. I could break up the roto if needed, but I also do like the look of the bezier handles that I get in the screen cap.)
