I was using PrmanRender to generate my shadows, and this solution doesn't work with that node (the shadow disappears, as well as the creature). But with ScanlineRender, feeding the casting geom black RGBA works! Thanks Ivan.

Hey Mark,

Have you tried feeding a black RGBA constant into your casting geometry?

I'm trying to render cast shadows in Nuke, from a creature
(alembic), onto some ground geom (alembic). I can get the creature
casting shadows, but the creature is visible, which I don't want.
I only want the shadow visible.

Is there any way to turn off the creature visibility to camera,
    while keeping the cast shadows?

    thanks
