When you double-click or right-click Open In > Node Graph a comp container it loads in the same session. It should take about as long as it would to manually load a script, then clear that script and load another so if the comps are heavy it could take a bit.
As with regular Nuke, unfortunately you can only have one Node Graph per session at any given time. If you hold Ctrl/Cmd when double-clicking the container or right click Open In > New Nuke Session it will open in a new NukeX. It will take a little longer the first time depending on your environment since it has to launch NukeX as well but then you can keep that open as well as whatever you have in your NukeStudio session.
