I think it always depends on people willing to code ;) For CUDA, the first step toward using it would be a complete BLAS support (as there are BLAS implementation over CUDA, and it will surely be the case for AMD as well in the future). A second step would be using IPP and such libraries when possible, but if we can have BLAS, it would be a great first step.
