Following up on Marcus' excellent Challenge work [1] and his and Felix' general work on Comportex and ComportexViz [2,3], I'm proposing an online summit to discuss how we can team up together on "HTM on JVM".
HTM.java [4] has a unified design intended to be simple and useful for quickly developing client code. It also has a deliberately chosen interface which closely follows that of NuPIC, allowing transfer of setups and configurations between the two platforms. I'm currently working on a system [5] to test out HTM.java on the Numenta Anomaly Benchmark [6], so we can measure the benefits of innovations in the algorithms there. I'm building it in Clojure to keep the design simple and clean, which necessitates building a wrapper for HTM.java in Clojure. Thanks to some great design decisions by David Ray and colleagues, this is a pleasure to work on. This has prompted the idea of connecting up the wonderful innovations in Felix' and Marcus' work with the more platform-centric HTM.java system. I'm not sure what medium would be best for this, but perhaps a 45-minute Google Hangout would be a good place to kick off the discussion? I'd welcome any comments, suggestions etc people might have.
