I have purchased a Salicru SPS 850 Home UPS, but can’t connect it to a Raspberry Pi.  The package recommended by Salicru is the PowerMaster software, but this will not install to the Pi (the OS is Raspbian “Jessie”, also tried on a pi with Raspbian “Stretch”).  The Pi’s are version 1B and 3.  I upgraded the Pi software of both to today’s authorised versions.

Previously, I had a Belkin UPS and used the Blazer_USB driver, which worked fine.

The Salicru says it is HID-compliant, and connects via USB, so I tried the usbhid-ups driver.  This reports “No matching HID UPS found”. And then “Driver failed to start”.  This driver appears to be the one to use, but only seems to be compatible with a limited range of UPS’s.

I am using NUT 2.7.4.  See below for the error message:

pi@raspberrypi-3:~ $ sudo upsdrvctl start

Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.7.4

Network UPS Tools - Generic HID driver 0.41 (2.7.4)

USB communication driver 0.33

No matching HID UPS found

Driver failed to start (exit status=1)

I am at a loss as to how to proceed.  I suspect the usbhid-ups driver needs to have the Salicru UPS added.  Any assistance would be welcome.

Kind regards

Donald
