It worksto the longer-term deadline and rarely has direct client contactthat is
the domain of the call-centre employee.
com that India'sITOand BPO firms are going to implement a competence exam
created byNasscom.
KPO is built around a demand for business expertise, such as legalservices, the
analysis that supports a merger, formulating patents, and writing equity,
industry and product reports. But this was not enough for the
Frenchauthorities, who say Nestle have breached their strict code onfactory
closures.
My concerns werepublished shortly after.
Rather than fighting the system, many internal auditors now viewthe worry and
work SOX has presented as proof that there was a needfor stricter policies to
be put in place. Interestingly, this is the same for any market, product,
companyor even person. Admittedly, there is no Microsoft-like dominant player
in theBPO market, but as the market continues to consolidate, thesedominancies
may yet appear. In the Fairyland of France, forcing investors to pay people
tomake stuff that people no longer want might look sensible. "Over the past 15
years a lot of companies haveoutsourced at a faster pace than they can actually
manage," Mr Molsays. There are many indeed who think that standards willnever
become the norm.
The articles in Business Week seem to supportthis.

That's starting to happen to the benefit of all.
I was surprised to learn that it was four ministers fromthe European Union. How
many deals have gonesouth because the client doesn't understand what it's
losing inoutsourcing some "non-core" but vital bit of the business?
Each new Chinese corporate takeover bid or revelation of a majorIndian
outsourcing deal elicits howls of protest by U.
The articles in Business Week seem to supportthis. No longer are brightchildren
from deprived backgrounds encouraged through selective"grammar" schools, but
put through a "comprehensive" system that isanything but. What we seeafter
three years of SOX maybe the beginning of the end ofunethical and criminal
behaviour.

It isproject-based work performed remotely through extensive use ofglobal
data-bases and sources such as regulatory bodies. I'm sure that we'll see in
the next three years SOXcompliance not as a burden for honest and efficient
corporations,but as a positive differentiator.
There is a direct correlationbetween mentions of BPO in dejanews. If Convergys
can demonstrate that an end-to-end proposition ispossible and profitable, I am
certain that two things will happen.
Trying to stop imports and outsourcing amounts to economicsuicide. at least
until the nexttime.
I do not believethat the system in the UK is broken, I believe that in most
casesthe teaching is broken. I've been banging on howprotectionism doesn't work
for some time. How many deals have gonesouth because the client doesn't
understand what it's losing inoutsourcing some "non-core" but vital bit of the

This is in reaction to criticism following thewell-publicised selling of bank
details to a British tabloidreporter.
It is high volume work with thinmargins for customer-facing tasks such as
settling cardbills.
Nestle offered all 427 workers other jobs within the group, orearly retirement.
The sooner Nicholas Sarkozy takes over, the better.
Many jobs are likely to belost.
