I have always been able to use the latest trunk version of Nutch with FreeBSD
5.x and 6.x.
Your going to want to install the Diablo Java package, and not the Linux or
native-source build.
If you do some searching on the mailing list you can find some previous posts
from myself with details on how to get Hadoop native compression working, and
other small tips and tricks.
